Coastal Erosion Monitoring

We implemented a comprehensive monitoring program for a sensitive coastal region experiencing significant erosion. Regular UAV surveys captured high-resolution aerial imagery, which was processed to create detailed Digital Surface Models (DSMs) and orthomosaics. Complementary LiDAR scans provided centimeter-level accuracy for measuring shoreline changes. By comparing datasets over time, we quantified sediment loss and identified erosion hotspots. These findings are crucial for coastal management authorities to design and implement effective protection strategies, safeguarding vulnerable communities and ecosystems.
